I’m increasingly confident about the future of stablecoins, particularly as they start to fulfill the promises that were initially associated with Bitcoin during the 2017 bull run. The advantages of fast, low-cost transactions are becoming more attainable, with platforms like Base leading the way. Their goal of making every transaction under one second and roughly one cent is a significant step forward. While it’s important to remain cautious, the progress in stablecoin technology suggests that we are on the brink of a major shift in digital finance.
Interestingly, I feel that the potential of stablecoins is somewhat underappreciated in the broader crypto community and beyond. While much of the focus remains on the volatility and speculative aspects of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins are quietly laying the groundwork for a more practical and efficient financial system. As these advancements continue, I believe their true impact will become increasingly clear.
